Vintage style product in the modern world. This item has many names Masher, Smasher, Tamper, even a new to me Spirtle. Whatever you call it its purpose remains the same. It's job it to smash food. I handmade this with the small scale foodie in mind to create one jar of ferments at a time. This fits perfectly with a pint size jar. I made it with local pecan wood and have finished it off with a beeswax and coconut oil (100% edible). Pecan is a hard sturdy wood with no smell or after flavors to leak out into your food. I made the end squared to get into corners if necessary. This one is 9 3/4 inches long and weighs approx 3 oz.
